— Convertkit vs AWeber: Best Email Marketing Service? —

This video is a little different…

We get a lot of questions about the systems and software we use to run Primal Video, and a lot of people have been asking about what email service we recommend.

Some of you recently noticed we changed from AWeber to ConvertKit and have been asking why. Given the vast majority of Primal Video community are entrepreneurs, we thought we’d do a quick video on this to explain why we went with ConvertKit, and help you make your own decision on what’s the best email service for you.

Email really is king. It is one of the easiest ways to communicate with your loyal, interested subscribers without the noise of social media. If you’re not currently growing a list – you definitely should be. To do this, you need an email service like aWeber, Mailchimp, InfusionSoft or Convertkit. There’s a ton of options out there, each has it’s own advantages and disadvantages – and what’s best for you will really depend on your workflow, and what you’re looking to achieve.

For us, that’s now ConvertKit – and this video runs through the main reasons WHY we changed from AWeber…

1. Deliverability.
2. List Management and Interface.
3. Pricing.

In summary: we’re loving ConvertKit right now and certainly haven’t looked back… Of course, this is just OUR experience – and I wanted to give you our thoughts after getting a lot of questions on the subject, to hopefully help you make the right decision for your own business and unique circumstances.

For many, AWeber, Mailchimp, or GetResponse might be the right choice! But for us, it’s ConvertKit. These are the factors that influenced us, but there are others to consider… For example, ConvertKit is AWESOME at simple text-based emails – but it doesn’t have anything like the templating functionality of AWeber or Mailchimp. We find we get better results with basic emails, so ConvertKit works well – but if you’re using fancy templates, it may not be the best option and just be aware you’ll need to get something custom coded for your needs.

Let us know what email provider you’re using and why! If you’ve had a different experience with AWeber or ConvertKit, let us know!

And if you like us doing these ‘behind the scenes’ videos on the systems and services we use to run Primal Video, let us know that as well – we’ll do them a bit more regularly in addition to our weekly video production tips.
